The first written records date back to early 19th century, but dishes of melted cheese were mentioned in medieval texts from Swiss convents as early as 1291. Cuckoo Clocks in Zurich

A beautiful instrument telling the time and musical in nature, there are multiple types of cuckoo clocks. From modern to battery-powered, 1-day to 8-day, it is often said during the 18th century, farmers in south-western Germany made cuckoo clocks from logs in the Black Forest. During the winters, farmers would take the time to make the cuckoo clocks to be sold so they could earn a living!
