GUANACASTE, COSTA RICA

RIO CELESTE

If you happen to visit Guanacaste, I highly recommend checking out Rio Celeste. It is a beautiful waterfall with an active rainforest - this monkey was spotted in the rainforest on our way to the waterfall!

PROTIP: Do you like to meet new friends around the world? Postcrossing is a community that I have been active in for seven years.  Postcrossing gives you 6 addresses of people from all around the world and you start by writing a postcard to each one. Once they receive your postcard, then you receive 6 random postcards sent to you address from around the world! Once you receive those postcards, you are given more addresses to write to, and the chain continues on! It is a free service and I have met a handful of wonderful penpals because of Postcrossing.

Did you know the safest place to be in an airplane is over the wing?

Whenever I fly I always try to reserve a seat near the wing of the aircraft.  Sometimes turbulence can occur on bright sunny days, completely out of nowhere. Oftentimes if the pilot requests for seatbelts to be worn and it is a nice day without any turbulence so far, it is because a plane ahead of you may have experienced turbulence and reported it so other planes behind can prepare!

COSTA RICA FUN FACTS:

2. More than 25% of the country is protected in Reserves and National Parks.

3. Costa Rica doesn’t have a military. It dissolved in 1949.

4. Pura Vida means “Pure Life”, and is the typical greeting and way of life in CR.

5. The national anthem plays on the radio every morning at 6am!
